Colonia de Sant Jordi, a former fishing and agricultural colony, is still a quiet holiday resort which has grown steadily since the 1950s. The fishing harbour still exists, and you can catch a small ferry to the tiny, rocky island of Cabrera which is totally undeveloped and has been designated a National Park.
 
The real highlight of the area is Es Trenc beach – said to be the best in Mallorca. This Caribbean-like idyll is great for water sports. It’s also the island’s most popular nudist beach. Nearby beaches Ets Estanys, Es Dolç and Es Carbó are equally stunning.
